October 2025: A torn ACL and a focus on the East
So, apparently I have a torn ACL. Two weeks ago, I had absolutely no clue what an Anterior Cruciate Ligament was. Seemingly, it is a very important part of one’s knee joint and is necessary to provide knee stability while running around behind three little kids. Eighteen months ago I injured my knee and stubbornly (stupidly) never went to the doctor and never sought physio-therapy. Unfortunately no amount of rest or ice can reverse this tear so the burning question is – to have the reconstructive surgery or not to have the surgery?
When will one month on crutches, two months of not driving and countless weeks of therapy ever fit into a such a hectic work and family life? The answer is NEVER! But I should not (cannot) neglect my health and well being for the constant hustle. If anyone has experienced ACL reconstructive surgery please drop me a line and share your experience, this would be very helpful.
Despite the above set back the show must go on and big changes to Hart & Co. are underway as we speak. Disa Assue (née Hart) our extremely capable and beloved Administrative Manager has moved to St. Augustine. As a born and raised Southerner Disa fell in love and married a lovely man from Arima and thus her life has changed forever! As much as I will miss having her live two minutes away from our home office – we have embraced this change and she has taken up the mantle of being our official East Agent. Disa is spending her weekends exploring and discovering East Trinidad and all of the lovely neighborhoods, developments and commercial properties that it has to offer. This transition is extremely well timed in my opinion, because the East is WHERE IT’S AT! The explosion of commercial and residential projects, the high quality and beauty of the offerings if exactly in line with the Hart & Co. brand and we are so excited to dive in! Seeing Disa embrace this new role and seamlessly balance her admin duties has been an absolute joy and she has already completed two successful Sale transactions at East Lake development in Mausica.
On the Barbados front we are tickled pink to announce that the Hart & Co. team and I were featured in the latest Issues of Living Barbados. This magazine is a bi-annual publication encapsulating the latest, trendiest, who’s who in Barbados real estate, fashion, development, design and fitness. It is a dream come true to have a gorgeous double page spread that weaves the tale of how my love affair with the island began, how Stefan and I have used Barbados as the backdrop for creating core memories with our kids and our future plans for expansion. On the heels of this great achievement I was also accepted into BEAVA, Barbados Estate Agents and Valuers Association Inc.. Being a member of this esteemed group of agents and participating in their educational programs will further immerse me in the Barbadian market and best practices.
That’s all from me at the moment, I’m off to an exciting new listing. Stay tuned!
