APRIL 2026: Life Purpose, Ageing & New Beginnings: A Soul-Inspiring Journey from Trinidad to Barbados

This wouldn’t be Zoë’s Newsletter if I didn’t bare my soul and express my feelings.

Today, I find myself contemplating a plethora of deep emotions, among them the meaning of life, ageing, purpose, and how we cultivate healthy relationships with family living abroad. April 1st, 2026, marks a significant and emotional day for our little family. It is the day we transition my husband’s 91-year-old grandmother into a care home—for the second time.

Granny has been living with us for the past two years, after spending the previous seven in a care facility. We are her only family residing in Trinidad, and her care has been our full responsibility. These past two years have been incredibly enriching for her, and for us. My children have had the rare and beautiful opportunity to grow alongside their great-grandmother, creating core memories that will stay with them for a lifetime.

This decision has not been taken lightly. But at this stage in her life, she requires a level of care and attention that we simply cannot provide. Just as important is the social aspect—this new home offers structured activities, connection, and the opportunity to engage with others in a similar stage of life.

Will it be the right decision? I wish I had all the answers—but such is life.

Moments like these naturally bring forward life’s biggest questions:
What are we all doing here in these earth suits?
What is the true meaning of this existence?
What sets our souls on fire?

For me, I can say with certainty that the things that ignite my soul are:

  • Every moment spent with my husband and children, creating memories.
  • Deep, meaningful friendships filled with laughter.
  • Building Hart & Co. Real Estate and expanding into new realms of knowledge and discovery.

And speaking of that journey, our expansion into Barbados has been the most thrilling chapter of my professional life to date. Traveling to Barbados with clients, meeting developers and fellow agents feels like a dream realized. There are moments while I’m there when my heart feels as though it could burst with gratitude and joy. Years of manifestation and quiet, strategic planning have led to experiences like our early March trip.

Four jam-packed days in Barbados felt like a year’s worth of growth.

From the moment we landed, we were immersed in a whirlwind of activity—touring four incredible new developments and connecting with a visionary developer whose passion for ultra-luxury, wellness, and architectural excellence was truly inspiring.

We explored:

  • Dolce Vita at Batts Rock – an intimate six-residence development offering full-floor living, private elevator access, and a stunning rooftop retreat.
  • Porters Palms in Porters – lush, garden-style two-bedroom residences just steps from one of the island’s best beaches.
  • Luna Mare in Moontown, St. Lucy – a breathtaking beachfront enclave with world-class amenities and a cove that feels like a European summer dream.

The following day, we hosted clients who flew in from Trinidad and the United States for an intensive day of property tours. These business partners, with strong ties to Barbados, are looking to expand their portfolio while enjoying the lifestyle the island offers. Working with clients like these is truly fulfilling—learning about their journeys, their vision, and helping them align investment with lifestyle is both inspiring and rewarding. After careful consideration, they secured a unit in a brand-new pre-construction development on the West Coast, within walking distance of Limegrove Lifestyle & Shopping Centre. As early investors, they’ve secured prime positioning in what promises to be an exceptional project.

March has been nothing short of soul-filling. And the cherry on top? The upcoming Altman Real Estate x Hart & Co. launch event on April 16th. Since late 2025, the Altman team and I have been planning a Trinidad-based event to showcase their exclusive Barbados developments. I’m beyond excited to share that it’s finally happening. This intimate cocktail evening will feature Sir Paul Altman and his team, highlighting premium opportunities such as The Pierhead, Ocean Blue, and other standout investments in Barbados’ rapidly growing market.

Bringing an event of this calibre to Trinidad feels surreal. It also reinforces my mission—to guide Trinidadian clients toward accessing true luxury and lifestyle investments across the Caribbean.

Life purpose? It’s beginning to feel unlocked.

At the end of it all, we are simply doing our best to navigate whatever life places before us.

Breathe.
Stay calm.
Stay focused.

And don’t forget to follow the breadcrumbs, the ones that quietly lead you toward your deepest joy and truest passion.
